Groomers in Nevada

Nevada is dry enough that matting is a smaller problem here than almost anywhere else, and brittle hair is a bigger one. A coat that has not been conditioned snaps under a slicker instead of releasing, and heavy deshedding work on a dry coat does more harm than good.

Sun is the other consideration. Skin that has been shaved has no protection at all in this light, and on a double coated dog clipping removes the layer that was keeping the heat off in the first place. Taking the undercoat out is the cooler answer.
